Fit before finish
Measure the opening first
For a well, record the window opening width, the required projection from the foundation, and the height from finished grade. Check the window sash in its fully open position. For a cover, measure the outside width and projection of the well itself.
For basement-window safety and building requirements, check the BC Building Code information and your local authority. Product sizing advice is not a code-compliance determination.
